Vaca Muerta closer to a historic milestone: oil production nears one million barrels per day
In September, Argentina reached a new record in oil production, with 973,700 barrels per day, largely driven by the unconventional formation of Vaca Muerta. Companies indicate that production could continue to grow toward a target of up to 1,700,000 barrels daily, with 40% of exports going to international markets. Energy exports reached record figures, also benefiting from high prices due to the geopolitical situation in the Middle East.
