A ruling by Judge Preska regarding the closure of the YPF trial and the dismissal of the US$16 billion claim
Federal Judge Loretta Preska has formally closed the YPF nationalization trial after complying with the ruling from the Second Circuit Court of Appeals that overturned the judgment against Argentina for $16 billion. While this is a significant advancement, the U.S. Supreme Court still needs to decide whether to take up the case following an appeal by Burford Capital, which represents the plaintiffs. The case originated in 2012 and has been in litigation for years due to the Argentine government's expropriation of 51% of YPF's shares.
