AI summary
The MSCI Merval is a new stock index in the Argentine market that includes 19 leading companies and was created through a partnership with MSCI. It alters the previous methodology to now focus on market capitalization and liquidity of the companies, aiming to enhance the visibility of the local market internationally.
While seen as a step forward, analysts note that the index's concentration in a few sectors may limit diversification and does not ensure an increase in foreign investment.
